It wasn't even the outrageous prices charged. It was a comment she made that showed her hand.

Some are really really bad about this. It's gotten way worse across the board post COVID.

After spending a ton of money at a “dog manor” to board our dog while we were on vaca he came home with kennel cough. The vet we use only because we couldn’t find anyone taking new clients usually loves to run tests and upsell whatever they can actually agreed on our diagnosis and prescribed a script without a fuss. I hate going there but this was a relatively less than frustrating experience.

Kennels around here require vaccination against kennel cough. I think it is called bordatella. If the dog manor you were at requires the vaccination, find out just why your dog contracted it.

You know, granted it's been a really long time, but back in the day there was no test for it, symptoms only. Might not be a coinkidink he didn't test. And glad he wrote you a scrip for him, and counting gasoline and time we often pay more for less frustration in this house.

X3 Honestly can’t remember a time when they didn’t require proof of bordatella vax.

He is up to date on all vaccinations, they said they require it.

we all know how effective vaccinations have been lately.

They said there are tests but they are expensive and they are fairly confident the script should cure it if not then they will do the test.

This place is touted the best in our area. It really sucks how it has played out. I’ll be emailing them and won’t be using their services again.

I totally get it and sorry. I do remember that it's super contageous though, how dumb to require it for boarding then let it run through you boarding dogs. I wonder if they'll pay for the vet visit you needed because he caught at their facility?

They just called and said they will cover up to 500$ so I guess that’s good. They said it’s just like sending a kid to school they will come in contact with germs they are not used to… they have state of the art air filtration and disinfecting practices blah, blah, blah. Guess it’s a learning experience.

Thanks, it's still a work in progress but we've made it survivable.

I must be missing something...so how can it be spread around, if all dogs have to be vaxxed...and how did your vaxxed dog get it?
Sounds like a certain other vax that I've heard about...
