As for ours, we still have plenty. I think we burned less wood so far that we ever have. I is amazing. If this keeps up I may have enough wood on hand for the next 8-10 years!

Of course we could still burn lots of wood this spring before it is over. Yes, today is the first day of meteorological spring.

I have several empty racks. I'm working on changing that.

I think I'm just under 3 cord burned. That includes the conscious use of shoulder wood, during the day.

We have burned less this year. The new OWB has something to do with that I’m sure but so has the weather. You are correct about it only being March Dennis. Depending on the weather conditions the old wood pile could still take a hit in March.:) I’m still working on the 3 year plan though. I’m no where near Dennis in that department!!!!!!!

I have burned more according to my empty rack's gauge at the front of my house. Still have plenty of wood just none staged near the front door. It’s that time of year when I’m ready to be done moving and burning and focus all my efforts on making. Warmer temps in the 10 day so I’ll only be burning to keep my lovely wife comfortable.

I've gained this winter. Not a ton, but have processed more than has been burned. 3/4 cord was added to new stacks last Sunday. Gonna try to put a whoopin on it tomorrow and Sunday. 5 unbucked logs laying at the yard and a little pile of smaller rounds to work on.

I'm guessing 3 cord will be used by the time we get to warm weather. A 'normal' winter would see 4 minimum used.

I've burned less for sure. We only had a couple weeks of winter. Most of our temps have been above normal.

I have about cord and a half of dry wood left so were in good shape. I have enough stacked now that I should be on the three year plan, Maybe a little more. The NF Roads open Monday and from what I have been told they were hit hard over the winter so there should be plenty more to harvest. We used about 2 cord this winter.

I lost count of how much I’ve burned this year, but even on the warmer days (40-50) I was still having consistent small fires. This was my first year for firewood sales too, and I sold 3 cords. I still have probably 3 cords of ready to burn inventory. No danger of running out of firewood anytime soon here.

Of my 3.14 cords in the basement, I have 1 row about waist high that is approximately 9' long. Think I'll have to move some more in to prevent burning HHO.

I've burned about 2.5 - 2.75 cords so far. Not nearly as much as last year. The only problem is I don't have enough room for all the wood I need to stack. I've probably got 10 cords of trees wood on the woodlot that need to either come down or get cut up. Guess I'll have to start stacking out there. :) At this rate, I might start rivaling JRHAWK9 's 65+ cords... :)

As of today I've burned about 2 cord total. Only burned 1 half cord rack outta my normal stacks.

Back in the fall i had a half cord or tulip and half cord of white pine stacked in rounds and dry. I split those out and stacked in the driveway. Was thinking that stack of pine was going to be mostly used around this time but in never got cold out.

So I've already replenished a 1/2 cord rack of hardwood that was burned this year with some red oak.

I've burned as much as 5+ cord a year with the old roof and a real winter.

Yes, that is true. But meteorological spring happens March 1. Just 2 different ways of looking at the seasons.

"The difference between meteorological spring and astronomical spring is that meteorological spring is based on the annual temperature cycle and the Gregorian calendar, while astronomical spring is based on the position of the Earth in relation to the sun123. Meteorological spring starts on March 1 and lasts for three months, while astronomical spring starts on or around March 20, when the sun passes directly above the equator, and lasts until the summer solstice."

btw, I saw something this morning I've never seen before and that is killdeer. I have never seen them this early; about a month ahead of normal.

Lol my bad. Meteor and astro are on the same plane or have the same meaning in my head. Guess I'll have to rearrange that now. Lol. Thanks for the lesson. :salute:

It's been a weird winter. Can only imagine what the birds and such are thinking. I haven't seen any killdeer in years past here but used to at my parents. They had a long slag driveway that they liked to nest in the middle of.

I’m not good at keeping track of how much I burn, but even with the milder winter, it seems like I used more than last year. ( but maybe not)
It does seem like the more I have on hand, the less stingy I am with it.
But overall I think I have gained and have more on hand than I did at the start of the season, although a bunch of rounds still need split and stacked

That's the, it will go into the next stack

It was the warmest winter in record here. By a big margin too.

I will burn 3 cords of wood per winter on average. I have burned maybe 1.75, absolutely wild. If this keeps up my 10 year plan could turn into a 15 year plan. I bought 2 tons of sand/crusher to put on the steep parts of the driveway in December. I told my wife now that I have this pile it won’t even snow or be cold. That was spot on.

The month of February was the second warmest on record here. The #1 spot was set back in the late 1800's. I guess they had climate change back then, too. :rofl:
