24 hours ago they were predicting the end of western civilization for me. Then 12 hours ago it was downgraded to hordes of flying locusts. Looks like their original prediction was closer to being right.

We ended up with ~3-4 inches, the bottom half is slush.

2 to 5 inches of really heavy, back and shovel breaking, WET snow.

My favorite shovel has some new fractures based on the crackling and creaking sounds it was making.
I have like 8 snow shovels in the shed, so I have backups. don't really like any of them, but not a fan of snow shovels. So there's that.

I love winter and snow but this pizzy winter can be done IMHO!
"They" quit talking about snow from this one for us a few days ago, and they actually had it right.

Absolutely zero precipitation at my place yesterday. Did have the heavy, dark overcast, but that was it. Supposed to have a couple of small storms now thru Friday.

Same here, no snow fall at all. Although we still have 4 or 5 inches still on the ground.

I can only hope this leads to some standing dead firewood-worthy trees falling roadside for the taking :dex:

Early thaw and the ground is saturated. Getting huge winds this morning (started last night). Any trees that were compromised over the winter will surely be coming down. My house is shaking and banging from the howling gusts.

We had that blustery nonsense last night, but without all the rain/sleet/snow/volcanic ash? they were warning about. Which does make me a little concerned over the lack of precipitation this past winter. May make for a hot DRY summer and all the "fun" stuff that brings with it (hey there is still some forests up north that haven't burnt up yet).

But hey, at least my Starlink dish is still on the roof...

At one point ~20,000 were without power in NH yesterday.

Saw on the news last night that just a few miles away from me, they officially recorded 58 mph gusts. Wouldn't surprise me that I got near or at that. At that time (probably 5 or 5:30 pm), they said my area was still getting 25 mph gusts and there wasn't any wind shrieking, house shaking or any indication from inside the house of the winds. I went outside and could tell though :shiver:. I decided to forego my usual Thursday night dump run as the wind chill was more than I wanted to deal with.
