Thanks again everyone, dad is doing very well and better than he has for a while . Got out and finished splitting my honey locust from last summer, bark was falling off most of it. I have about 1.5 totes already moved to the house, 1 tote for Edwin, another I filled today, plus the pile on the ground so thinking it will stack out to a little over 2 cords. 4-years and I will see a fantastic payback for the labor invested in it.

    Have a good week everyone.

Predicted for warmer highs through Thu. Above freezing temps means I'll be able to give both vehicles a well needed bath!

Temps are up to 45 as of now. Managed to get both vehicles washed; they sure needed it!

Was at least 52° and sunny here today. Did up about 1/2 cord of 24" red oak. I quartered them and my dad split them into the trailer. There were 2 piles of quarters about that size.

Wow, looks like full on bug season there. No snow, no mud? WTH?

Since it’s supposed to be gorgeous out for the rest of the week, I decided to get the truck washed

Oh it's a little slick on top in spots but workable. Have definitely seen mosquitoes today and other flying bugs. I'm sure we'll pay for it this spring.

I know, right? It was 6* here yesterday morning, although it did get up to the low 30's. With the strong sun the last couple of days, the southwest portion of the yard has seen a lot of snow melt with some bare areas that weren't part of my snow blowing/shoveling program.

Should be about the same weather today, maybe a tick warmer. Will get some more bare areas in the yard. It's just a tease before the snow coming Friday.

Snow! Last I saw it was supposed to be 40* and raining. I’ll take the snow.

Seems lots of hoarders were getting wash jobs for their vehicles. I did too but it turned out to be the worst one I've ever seen. It was the first (and last) time I ever went to that car wash.

Caffeine! Second dose. Getting a little exercise inside the house this morning. Deciding what to do on my day off. We are definitely going for a long walk this afternoon when it should be 40 and full sun 3-4. My wife is on mid winter break vacation and enjoying it. Two RDOs for me. We’ll go into town and walk the paved trails along the rivers.

Eh, that incoming snow will be short lived. Spring is on its way early.

I'll be washing my truck in the driveway hopefully after work. At least then I know it's done properly.

For a while with our well pump being out of commission, washing our vehicles in our driveway was out of the question.

I used to wait impatiently for spring to come. I wanted to get started digging in the gardens. Now that isn't possible for me. I'm looking forward to warm sun which I can go out and sit in. Just listening to the wind, birds etc. My dog loves to play fetch with a ball. I want to feed the birds, but my son objects and says I am attracting rodents. Rodents have been a continuing problem.

Here it is still Feb. and the stream is open. We used to take a guess when it would be ice out, but now that isn't happening.
