It looks like I’ll have to move wood into the basement 1 more time.

24/70. Brought in some chunks of black locust for overnight burns. Still RO primarily w/ a couple splits of chestnut oak popping up in the stack.

-1/62, I was today years old when I realized those temps mean outside/inside, not low/high temps outside! LOL. I sure bet you all thought we keep our house cold!!

20/64 for us today. Lots of Beautiful sunshine. Walnut, black locust, white oak.

We have a couple of dogs now. One of them is a bernese mountain dog. Big, hairy, and always too warm. He'll just lay down in the snow and be comfortable.

99 lbs (my best half) has always been thin blooded and has always kept a warm hot home........until we got the dogs. that burnese will begin panting at temps around 70. Then, 99 says "It's too hot in here!"

That's fine, those are my preferred temps anyway. If I get chilled, I'll light off a fire in the basement wood stove. :handshake:

Last night at bedtime, it was 68 inside temp. "Don't throw any wood in the furnace; it's warm enough in here!" is what I heard. OK.

That's why the morning inside temps here are always in the low 60's

Sitting at -21C/-6F at the moment, which is not bad at all for a normal year, but one of the cooler days for this El nino winter. Lots of wood and furnace oil left so far...still amazed. Pine in the reactor.

A few days ago we had -23c/-9f but weve been warming up a bit each morning since. Sitting at -8c/17f currently with some larch and birch in the stove. Ive got some pork ribs set aside for the smoker this afternoon and will likely move a bit of wood into the garage. Im not a big fan of going out in the snow to the stacks each time I want to load the stove. Our 7 month old golden retriever pup had the runs last night so I was up 5 times to let her out. She sure is a good dog for alerting me when she needs to go outside.

31/71. Few splits of white oak put in. Probably gonna do an early morning load in the furnace. Let it go out, and then one before bed the next few nights at least. Looks like daytime temps are gonna be trending warmer.
