1 above Zero at 5am. A couple days ago the forecast high for today was about 45f , and I had been planning a weekend of serious wood gettin. Now it’s looking like a high of 34-36 for today. Still gonna give it the ole college try, just not gonna get an early start. I’m really wanting to see my new to me dump truck with a good load of firewood.
Some finely split mulberry and some silver maple trying to knock the chill out of the house.

29 and woke to about 5 inches of fresh snow., oak and cherry in the stove. First day off in 20 days and not sure what to get into. Probably no wood processing, a little to slippery oit for my liking.

Not the highest BTU stuff, seems to burn pretty well mixed. Been in the woodstack for 3 years so it's very dry, burns pretty quick.

I don't go out looking for Sycamore, neighbor was taking some trees down, asked if I wanted the wood. The Hoarder in me couldn't say no.

Definitely colder than it has been as of late.

9° out now. Tulips, crocus and the other bulbs were starting to shoot up. They'll slow their roll now.

70° inside, burning ash, Norway maple, and oak.

Today I'll be cutting a few decent sized yard pretty straight box elder at my neighbor's house . If I can get two trailer loads out today I'll be very happy. Probably 2 cords with of box elder and a Crab apple and a decent dead ash or 2.

32/64. Woke to probably 3-4” of snow. Promptly lit a fire after a full ash clean out. Down to one row left in my basement. Stated with just over 3 cords down there.

It’s nothing fancy I assure you, but it was affordable (almost) and was within a reasonable distance to go get. Keep an eye on the “ loaded truck” thread for the weekend and you should see it.
The thermometer needs to start moving upward before I get to excited though
