I wonder what the quotes from the tree service were.

Best to leave the unmarked car running when you drop it so you can make a fast exit.

Tough to say from a single picture, but why not speculate for fun. If we assume the road is on the other side of the fence where the picture is being taken from it’s not a terrible job. Most of the branches can be ziplined over the fence to the chipper. Top too. Good access to haul out the trunk wood with a mini skid steer would put the job in the 3k range for me. Poor access requiring hand removal of trunk wood would put that figure in the 4-5k range for me.

The ignorance of some people is hilarious. Just gotta remember to laugh and move on. Some will sure make one wonder though.

I had a cedar tree about that size taken down a few years ago. The guy I hired probably does work in Renton. My tree was about 20ft from my house. I only hired him to bring it down... I did all the cleanup myself. The guy fit me in around other jobs in the area and worked on it 3 separate days, climbing, limbing, topping, then felling the trunk. He quoted me $800 and I gave him $1000 after seeing how much work it was.
With cleanup and being closer to the house, I bet that tree is easily 3x the cost.

One of my best hardwood connections owns a licensed and insured tree service in Denver. He always contacts people who post ads like this. He gives them his contact info. He offers them 10% off. He gets a lot of business that way:cool:

Neighborhood app...many comments about hiring it out due to risk and liability. Would not believe some of the pushback from some people....apparently there are a lot of people that think this type of stuff is easy and can be done for free

Asking for a pay it forward!?!?! I'll bet that person's been given everything in their life. They probably don't even pay for that house!

Yeah, doubt they would be paying forward anything in the neighborhood of $750-1,000 to make it even....

I’ve had to play peacekeeper in many scenarios between neighbors just like this. I love how that person doesn’t realize that the parts of the tree that are over their property line are their responsibility to take care of anyway! It’s unreal how grown adult neighbors will squabble over the stupidest things.
