Husqvarna 445 clammy build

LOL, you're no help!!! LOL I've always struggled with carbs. I did force myself to take a day and go through the Mikuni on my Blaster to fully jet it properly... what a chore, but it did run nice with that build.

These tiny two stroke carbs are kind of an enigma cuz of the "behind the scenes" welch plugs and such. I've been lucky for years and really all I've encountered could be fixed with a good cleaning for the most part and an occasional membrane or two...

But this one is kicking my butt... I'll have another here probably tomorrow to play with but when I take it off, I'll look over the intake boot again but it looked fine when I had it all tore down. I had put a new metering membrane in before I had rebuilt it and it hadn't changed anything. I was thinking maybe seals, but the pressure/vac test came out good after the rebuild and it's still acting "carbatrosious".

 

I wonder if on mine, my excessive hacking may have reduced the impulse to the carb somehow. IDK. I just had enough of it. On to the Homelite super EZ Auto...again, then the pair of Homelite 150's.

 

Eventually I'm pulling the top end off that #2, Brad can't have 241, to play wuth it a little.

 

Some newer carbs have settings like 2-3 turns out. I don’t know the specs on that particular model but multiple turns is normal on some

 

I will give that a try tomorrow. I haven't gotten that far out yet although it 4 strokes at WOT at 1-1/2 out on the High. Cuts great, just won't idle down...

Time to go watch the Super Bowl commercials at the party...

Yeah something like that. My mom had more of an idea than me. I sat and watched the 1st quarter with them and she clued me in. Even pointed out the guy.
