I have an old Remington mighty might in the works. I am about to start digging into it soon here, can't wait. They just don't make them like they used to.
I have 9 of those. 6 I parted out and have them saved in a tote. One of the other three was built from the best parts of 5 saws. The second runner I got from a guy on ope. He rebuilt it years ago and never ran it. He gave it to me at Kevins GTG last year. I ported it. The third one I bought still sealed in its original box about 4 years ago on Craigslist. It resides in my hobby room in a hickory display case my wife had made. I also have a host of new old stock parts. If you need anything I might be able to help you out. I have several bars and chains too. I recently got two unopened original Remington mix oil cans with that saw pictured on the can. One is near mint. Its now in the display case with the saw. The other is garage art with my other vintage 2 stroke oil can collection.
The two runners. The ported one is obvious. Lol I'm going to put all new bearings, seals ect in the top saw and do some power enhancement as well. I have new old stock piston, rings and a cylinder to use but it has a good cylinder and piston so I'll just ring it. I made a full wrap bar for it from two of the steel handle bars. In the pictures they have the magnesium handlebars from the deluxe versions I parted out.
There is that display case again. I really like that. If I can ever find a saw to restore it will get the same treatment.
Too expensive? but you want to buy another saw... a port job on the 400 or the 500i would be a nice investment... and wake up either saws nicely.
