Meant to post this a couple days ago. Monday I got around to putting the wood rack back on the little porch and partially filled it. Was working then figured I'd best take a picture lest PapaDave would get on me for no picture. Just to the right of the porch you can see where the chimney is. Notice the height of it. Makes cleaning from the bottom a breeze.

And we had another fire in the stove this morning. Looks like tomorrow night will be a might chilly so will no doubt have another one going.

The wood you see in the picture was some of the last of the 2008-2009 winter's cutting. There are several more trailer loads of it so that will go into the barn sometime next month.

The wood above was taken from this. All that is left of this wood pile is the far right row. So, we'll have to break into some of the other stash this year. We're getting a bit low. There is just a little bit left of the 2009-2010 and then we get to the 2010-2011 wood, but there is about 7 cord of that before we get into the next year's. We're hoping we don't have to help out the neighbor this year lest we get too low. However, he had some heart surgery so he may not be able to do much work. If so, we'll help him out. If he can work, I've invited him to come help me cut more of our dead ash. We need to get most of what is left cut because some have already fallen. They seem to be rotting at the root so they are making me a bit nervous on felling them as you never know for sure how far along they are. Thankfully we don't have very many of the larger trees left, but a lot of them at 12" or less so those aren't bad.

Not too much. It is only 8' long and only around 30" high.

Hey Dennis, I could make a trip over & tip those Ash trees for you. We can drop as many as you like, the buck & haul as you have time. A C

Hey AC, good to see you posting. Pete tells me you've really been busy. Good for you. And I will certainly keep you in mind if we need some help again. If this back holds out a little longer we might make it. Last winter was not fun for me and you no doubt noticed when we were cutting the pines. That day was almost like hell to me. I was even swallowing pain meds heavy to get me through the day. Now the mess is all cleaned up and that place doesn't look the same. Perhaps I'll take a picture and post it on here so you can see what it looks like.

I'll bet it does look different over there. That was a fun day, I'm up for another one sometime Dennis. Does me good to get out of this joint for a day or two.

Looking good! Love that trailer and how low it sits to the ground.

That for sure is one of the things I like about this trailer. Especially if you have some really heavy stuff. You can just use a cant hook and roll them right on. If not, then it will also tilt and also swivel.

Reading this Dennis I might just fill the wood box in by the stove but I won't be filling the patio with the big winter pile for at least a few weeks yet. Just got back from the shores of Maryland and Delaware, beautiful weather every day and lots of seafood and good ice cream.

Ice cream is good here too! We're still eating it with fresh raspberries on top. Yummy!
