Bought and installed one of these to record temps remotely and looking to upgrade thermostat inside the house. Inkbird ITC-308 Has anyone experience with a WiFi thermostat for use with dual fuel, OWB and Fuel Oil furnace? Currently have two old school mercury thermostats installed, OWB set to 70 degrees, Fuel Oil set to 60 degrees. Sure would be nice to monitor temps remotely without upgrading boiler at this time. TIA
There are quite a few different wifi tstats out there these days...no idea why most of them wouldnt work for you, you are no asking for anything unusual.
Something I have an interest in learning. Even my binoculars from inside the house is difficult to read the temperature
This Inkbird controller has been awesome. I don't have anything plugged in to control, just monitor temp remotely. $40 from Amazon, cheaper than the wifi smoker options. Binoculars are getting dusty.
A few years ago I setup a Honeywell T6 ZWave thermostat for my geo. It's similar to the thermostat that I linked below. I had remote monitoring for my wood furnace and I wanted to be able to control my geo when my wood furnace went out. The thermostat definitely has a lot more bells and whistles than my current thermostat but it had one thing that I was not fond of is that you couldn't set droop a point on the new thermostat. In my situation it was running the geo every 20 - 30 minutes for a few minutes. As we all know, electric motors like to be off or on not cycled a lot. Definitely not a fan of any kind of thermostat from Amazon or Google, it's just another way for them to harvest and sell more data about you. https://www.supplyhouse.com/Honeywe...Pro-Smart-Wi-Fi-Programmable-Thermostat-2H-2C I don't see why you couldn't set your OWB to be stage one and then set your oil boiler to be stage two. You can't set two different temperatures like what you are currently doing. If you don't like the idea of a two stage thermostat you could also setup a aquastat to do the same thing and have single stage thermostat.
