Around me it is. I generally go to the Baltimore/DC metros for free wood. It's not that far from me and we work some other stuff in. It's an odd area I live in because it's full of people who have lived here for generations but the population has and is exploding. I grew up in Erie county right on the lake bordering NY state line and this area is just a lot different.

The area I am working right now is city owned land located out in the township. I have been cutting to open up the snowmobile trail. The city and township were pointing fingers back and forth over whose problem it was to clear the trail. Mean while the trail club is getting pizzed because winter is coming quick.

I asked the city manager if I could cut *shakes head up and down-yes motion* "no, you can't cut, its a liability issue'. Essentially it came down to they could not give permission but had no issue with me taking care of business. Been cutting right along the highway several days and the city cops just smile and wave as they go by.

 

There is always something. Take what u can and be safe. Have fun with the snow mobiles..
