Between the ice and snow last week and raining all this week it finally quit today at noon. Had to get out and split some red oak I've had noodled for a few years. Been about to go crazy not be able to work outside. Didn't get to split long, had to go work on my sisters Tahoe. 20240127_152553.jpg

Some splitting therapy does one good. How was it with the bum finger?

Went real well. Don't even notice it now unless I bump it. That seems to happen 1100 times a day. Lol.

Ms. buZZsaw dislocated her pinky the other day and she bumps it often!

damm, the Springtime pollination conditions must have been perfect for that tree behind the pile of splits.

That's a Holly tree. My favorite tree on the place. The ones futher back have some creeping ivy growing on them.

Yeah, we have them here, but I don't recall them ever being quite loaded as that. Some years they have none.
They're nice but not when you're walking barefoot.

Nice job! I’m hoping to get out and split for a bit tomorrow. We’ve had a few sunny days in a row. I need the snow to melt a bit more before I can get to work.

Like you I havent been doing much lately. Tried to get the splitter out into the field. There’s been a light snow cover on the ground for a few days so I thought the ground should be a little frozen. Buried the atv and splitter about 3 times in the field. Was able to sneak it through the fencerow onto the public trail and made 2 feet of mud getting it through there :)
Guess I’ll go out in the forest and drop some trees.

I did my walk, resized some splits, and moved some wood. The most outside activity in a couple weeks. It felt great!

Went out Sunday, first time since the cold wave hit, and split some of the HL for a bit. Splitter started first pull so the start of a good day. Did not think to take pictures so it didn't happen.

20240207_170047.jpg This is my 48th facecord sold this year. I know that's not alot compared to some but working all the hours I do I wasn't expecting this much. No end in sight also. That's not counting the 8 ricks I cut my dad, 4 for me, 4 for sister, and 4 for my cutting buddy.

Thanks. Got it on a heck of a deal. Wasn't looking for a 4 door or a lariat but the price and mileage was right. It's a 10 model with 148,000 miles. Had 117,000 when I got it 3 1/2 years ago. It holds a good load without sagging for a 1/2 ton.

Got 187k on my 13. I think they are the last generation of reliable trucks. Hope to get to 250k. The new 5.0 and 10 speed are junk!

I actually bought a new 2020 5.0 same day as my truck. My 5.4 has more low end tourqe but the 5.0 will walk all over it elsewhere. So far no troubles with it. Then again it's 3 1/2 years old to and only has 15,000 miles on it.
