It is still only January, but I think we have a contender for the "Understatement of the Year Award"!!

I bought a cheap Harbor Freight sledge for the wedge and sledge work to save the Isocore for regular splitting. No use tempting Fate....or Brad!

This was the email from Fiskars and it sounded like i wouldnt be covered as i never kept the receipt.

    Dear Brad,
    Thank you for contacting Fiskars.
We have noticed one or more pieces of required information is missing from your warranty claim submission.
Please verify and reply to this email with one or more of the following:
    1. Complete shipping address (we cannot accept PO box address).
    2. Image of defective tool (picture must be of actual tool, no web stock photos) to confirm the model.
**Please note: A picture of the entire product is needed** - not necessarily a picture of the defect.
    3. Copy of your receipt or online invoice.

I replied saying i didnt have it as it was supplied by them two years ago. New email asking just for tool photo to confirm model number.

    Dear Brad,
Thank you for contacting Fiskars Brands Inc.
We are happy to assist you with your warranty claim. Please provide a photo of the complete axe next to a tape measure to verify the length and model you own.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Ill get that done tomorrow.

You should try to use the broken handles like chop sticks for picking up splits.

    That would be interesting.

Yes, still using it. The maul/axes get used to section up rounds at a score for ease of handling.

I see. I have an old maul that I do the same thing with. I bought it at Lowe’s years ago. It’s held up great, but I don’t use it nearly as hard as you do.

Now worries Dave, all in fun! Im a good sport!

My older brother (12 years my senior) is ten times worse. Our dad would always be pizzed as he'd always be breaking the axe and maul handles splitting wood. Dad got a fiberglass handled one (this was in the 1970's early 1980's) and he broke that too. The family learned to never buy anything nice and expensive for him. :picard:

Well thanks to buzz-saw its working again.

Ive learned its a generic quality splitter and not really intended for the use i give it. Its actually my friends but he seldom uses it.

I guess having pro level chain saws i should have the same with a splitter.
