The doggie will just break through the thin chicken wire and zip ties again. And they can't free range anymore. The caged run is dirt, we live in a desert area and they have to go to where green things manage to grow.

Get Fish and Game Involved! Tell the owner, your going to call them, I'll bet it'll stop...

That dog sounds like it will continue to be a problem even after it's done with your chickens and it sounds like the owner isn't going to fix it. I would contact the owner, contact animal control, and if it continued shoot the dog. Make the body impossible to find. Take pictures of chickens.

It's sad when you have to go to that extreme, but I agree

We have had a great experience with the Halo collar. It’s not cheap but keeps the dog that was wondering in our yard. Much cheaper than him getting hit by a car.

I'm wondering how he disposed of the dead chickens he took and if my dog found them.

    Good point.

My dogs found a whitetail leg a few weeks back. I think someone dropped of a carcass after hunting season (not uncommon, unfortunately) and a fox dragged the leg back into our woods.

The dog were favoring a spot and I had to check it out. Sure enough, there was the entire rear leg from the ball joint down to the hoof.....but only bone. Everything else was gone with the exception of a little hair by the hoof.

The reason I suspect a fox is because it was near an entrance to a hollow log that I had left intentionally for that purpose.

No wifi, it has a built in gps.

you do need to use it in conjunction with a smart phone tho.

I have a smartphone. 1 acre rectangle for area. Little to no cell signal here, I have a repeater antenna that helps some it doesn't have a large range. (we pretty much rely on my wifi router for phones). Think it might work?

We have no cell service at the house and use our phones on 100% Wi-Fi signal. He has a 4 acre area that he is contained in with the collar. Ever dog is different, it took a bit of training but we are very happy with it. The collars had an issue with the battery early on they sent out a replacement next day.

It wasn't easy clicking the "buy" button but one is on the way, can't wait til it's set up and she's trained on it. This will allow her to be with us no matter where we are, but not sneak off like she did today. :ups:

We have used it in places off our property. It’s nice to be able to see exactly where the dog is at all times.
