Too much work for me to sell it, although I did get the daughter to come over and load up about a 1/4 cord before the blizzard we had a couple weeks ago. Good thing too, they lost power for about 12 hours and the storm was bad enough that they couldn’t get across town to our house. They stayed warm in front of the fireplace. Now will see if the original motive for giving them firewood comes to pass in 9 months.
I had my 3 year plan finished and at the start of covid firewood was selling and I figured I have no shortage of wood, why not sell off some for the cash. Well here we are in year 3 and I have a lot of catching up to do this summer. But I'm planning on going 3 years and then some. Slam the woodshed full.
I agree with hording the locust stash, but I tried a few splits of honey that I picked up last summer and split in the early fall. Pretty impressive but not something I want to do with the rest. Sandhills get pretty warm with loads of wind so don't underestimate how dry it could be by now.
