I'm not sure of the year (waiting to hear from Stihl NZ as to if there is any sales info on the serial no) but according to Media CAT it will be somewhere between 1984 and 1996. And yes it's Heavy with a capital H. 27.1lbs or 12.3kg dry weight without a bar according to the workshop manual.
First time seeing this on Ebay. The sellers offer is higher than the original price. You Stihl guys are something else.
I'm not a Stihl guy. Im a saw guy. One brand preaching fan boys are irritating. That saw was 1200 plus when listed plus shipping. It's s down to 999 as of this afternoon. STIHL MS 241C Professional Gas Powered Chainsaw w/ 16” Bar and Chain | eBay I think what happened there, as I got the same $50 off offer of $1199, was he lowered the price to $999 before I / you looked at the offer.
That's how I feel about my XS241. I talked to the guy. He bought it new in 2022 from an Ace hardware Stihl dealer. Has never touched wood. Still has 2 months of warranty left.
Exactly my sentiment. My cheap little Echo CS-370 brings a smile to my face. So does my Stihl XS 029 super, and Husky 61 though If I ever got my paws on an old Homelite I'd run that too.
I have Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, poulan, Homelite, Remington, Makita, Dolmar, Sachs Dolmar and mcculloch. If I like a saw, I like it. Brand doesn't matter. It doesn't have to be the fastest thing in its class to put a smile on my face either.
What model of Homelite are you looking for? They come up on my local online auction periodically. I've gotten several from there..
Not looking... yet. But down the road eventually. Saws have a way of finding me sometimes, so I'll leave it up to fate for now. Thanks though
I'm just now seeing this. Those pictures are from a Craigslist seller that I know and he had it listed for $700 in Denver. It is not an open box. It was prepared by a dealer and ran but the owner had never used it.
