Deer came in early this morning but some are starting to look hungry. DNR says no to feeding them.

Got a dilemma, my dad's iPhone got thrown in a washer by accident, nothing fancy, just old. I am an android user so know nothing about them plus I'm 3 hours away. My mom went to Verizon but they were less than helpful as he is the one on the account. Of course, they want cheap/used as all he uses it for is making and receiving calls. Not sure what iPhone models would be worth looking at as a replacement. One thought I have is just moving his SIM card to anther phone, but newer ones have them embedded so need to find an answer.
Thanks in advance for any insight anyone has.

Planning on just keeping them on Verizon and an iPhone but get it switched to my mom for future problems.
    Thanks Dave.

I just had my iPhone4 changed over to a re-conditioned iPhone12. He moved the SIM card with some modifications. It was through a company up here called Black Apple. A lot cheaper than than a new one.

I have a iPhone 8 (I think) I’ll give you if it will work on Verizon. We have US cellular for a carrier. I know some carriers vary on who’s system they’ll work on. Phone is only a few years old but we get new ones free every few years. Just PM me sometime

I have 2 I phone 8+, us cell said they are going obsolete. I broke the screen on one & tried to activate the other one: no servive, it won’t pick the network. I believe the Iphone SE is still a viable option.

I was gearing up to replace our stove/oven. $$$$$$$$$$. It wouldn’t bake. Broil would work just fine. Did zero diagnosis and just threw a new heating element in there. 35 bucks. It now works like new.

Here is the culprit. I would take a picture of the cherry red heating element but my oven is currently in between cleanings.

5 minutes of work. I should divert that extra cash into the saw fund.

I’d have to look and see what it is for sure. I get a new one fairly frequently cause usually they die a quick painful death. I’m not the best one for keeping them secure. Lost two off the tonneau cover of my truck at high speed. Dropped one into the topside of the mower deck while mowing. A few drowned over the years.

Thats why I buy used/refurbished & have 2. I break the screens regularly. Drop them, drive over them with a tractor or truck. A fella in the town about 30miles away will replace the screens & batteries for $100.
