Just paid my propane bill for my supplemental heat (furnace runs at night). Paycheck was deposited and I now have $8.12 left. FML. Oh well, bills are paid and I'm going to spend the weekend cutting... Sure the F ain't going anywhere!
No beer this weekend. Going to have to rough it. Got gas for the power equipment last weekend. Good to go there.

It's so sad that it's so true Saw. Here in Maine, there are way too many older folks, living on the edge, who have never asked for help, and they sure's h*ll aren't gonna ask now, as they face cold weather and other bills. Most get by, but I'm sure some live in really scary bad situations. Wish there was an easy fix... there isn't. I'm so thankful every time I'm moving forward... the list is long... and this group here would be on it.
I'm just thankful that there are two more paychecks this month to squirrel away. Been spending a lot this summer fixing up my property. It's a sllllloooooooow process. Grass seed and soil has been putting a big hurt on my wallet. It's coming along though. Never seem to make enough to buy a new saw or send my 361 out to be ported. It's amazing how much stuff comes up randomly that needs to be paid for... As I said though, bills are paid and I'm living in my house with a hot meal every night. Had to make some chocolate chip cookies tonight for a treat. Scratch cooking/baking does save money and IMHO, tastes better. Looks like Saturday we're in for rain. Sunday looks good for cutting though! I look forward to cutting every weekend. I thank God I have the equipment and ability to do so!
I have seen so many older folks living on the edge. Ignoring their health because even the co payments are too much. The worst situation are the widowed females trying to make ends meet so they can feed their cat and not loose their home for unpaid taxes. The younger voter seem to think the schools can't teach without the extras. But then those things need to be paid for.
