Im impressed but also very hesitant to tell my wife about this. She’d take it as a challenge…

Yes, been there, done that. We keep it around 80 all winter but sometimes it is a struggle colder than -1o or colder. -28 that time was a real struggle but we lived through it and laughed.

Wow! Where are you located IC?

I was always a tad nervous leaving the ex alone with a fire to take care of.

I recall once we fell asleep on a full load on full draft. Had loaded for an overnight burn. Awoke to an 80* house 45 minutes later.

I have no doubt I could get well over 100 if I put my setup on "kill". The problem is it doesn't get cold enough and I don't like the house hot. Last winter it got down to about -15 and the house was at 71 and I had a lot of power left on tap.

Pretty sure I'm a frequent flyer in the 100 degree club year after year.

Don't feel bad, I usually read through posts without paying much attention to who wrote what until I see something important. Makes it more like a good book with dialog....

When it gets to about 77, I’m ready to open a window and/or let the fire go out for a while. W/ decent insulation, our house holds it for a good while.
Had ‘er crankin’ last night. It was 15 when I called it a day.
