Our cold water Northern Pike are great eating fish and very versatile. We eat them fried, baked, grilled, smoked, pickled, boiled and dipped in melted butter, and pressure canned.

Are they similar to something else? Walleye maybe?

Just trying to get an idea of what they're like.

We catch a lot of walleye, perch, bluegill, crappie, bass, and pike. I fry them up together all the time and non-fisher people can’t tell the difference. Personally my wife and I prefer the pike and perch to walleye because they have a firmer texture, and taste better. In fact walleye are little flat for my taste.

I am going to enjoy the sunshine while it is here. campinspecter is moving firewood into the basement this morning before watching football today. Mom and I will doing bookkeeping and chores at her house.

I did get out to shove the snow around yesterday. I had forgot just how much fun it is not when plowing snow on an atc in 5 degree temperature...

Since the snow and cold hit we've had 13 deer bedding close to the house. I still enjoy that. I can step onto the porch for firewood and they just watch me.

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. 48° and cloudy, rain in the forecast, then falling temps.
Off for the next 3 days, so I'll be able to help keep the stove going. Got a few loads that need to be done, see how that goes.
Be kind, be encouraging, share a smile..

Yes they did. They got them opened back up pretty quickly Sunday.

Love to see the power of the wind actually...as long as I don't have to stay out in it for long. :)
