21f this morning but heading to below zero for the weekend. I had to restock the wood in the basement last night, so I’m going to give some mulberry an honest try and see how it works for the deep freeze temps

Winter is officially here. Sitting at -28C/-20F ballpark and then some wind (feels -35C) to make it even better. Woodstove and furnace tag team happening.

As usual the chance of snow has all but disappeared but still in line for very cold temps for this area as low as 16*F. Lugged some more Doug Fir and also some Madrone from the shed to the garage for the next few days. 38*F with Doug in the stove!

They have lowered our forecast from 8-12 inches down to 5-6 inches. I hope the trend continues.

You can send that 5-6 inches this way. I wouldn't mind at all!

31/68. Some mid winter stove maintenance. Cat needed a bath. Found a loose gasket too so had to glue that back. Back and running tonight.

Supposed to get anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow. Higher totals to the south east of here, Horkn. Below temps this weekend going into next week. Looks like the oil burner will get a bit of a workout.

-27c. 41 with the wind chill. The next few days are going to make a dent in the woodshed. There won’t be many logging trucks coming to my scale shack tomorrow.

Loaded the VF-100 with a random overnight mix of cherry, ash, sassafras, red oak and Norway maple. I enjoy having a variety of wood in the stacks.

8f at 0430 with light snow going. Haven't been out so guessing 1-1.5 inches. Be heading out in a couple of hours to clear driveway before heading out for a medical appointment. Hope they don't cancel as I've already done the prep part.
