It's not fully loaded until you're riding on the bump stops.

Got a chance to move some wood today from down in the front meadow to the woodshed by the house.

NOT barkless Black Locust. Mostly Red Maple, some Wild Cherry, Elm, and a little Honey Locust mix.

It would take much higher sideboards to get this truck down on the bump stops loading it with wood. This wood is under 20% moisture content, but I've had some huge loads of fresh cut on here that barely make it droop. I'm not sure if it has optional suspension on it or not, but it rides like a buckboard when empty... It was hard to get in and out of till I make the functionally ugly steps under the doors...

Somewhere a couple weeks ago there was some talk about Tulip Poplar. Here's what's left of a bud in early January. It's on the young tree behind the peak of the wood pile in the truck in the second picture.

@MAF413 could you take some closer pictures of your steps? My truck certainly needs something like that

On my truck there were 3 attachment points on the inside of the rocker panel. Each mount had 4 clinch nuts already in place. I made 6 drop plates out of 1/4" plate steel that I had laying around. Drilled clearance holes for them to match the the mounting pads on the truck. I cut them long enough the hang halfway down to the ground. I had some 3" wide C-channel that I cut to length (just torched it off since I could care less what it looks like). I clamped the channel to the drops and welded the step to the drops. These are SUPER strong and barely flex even with my fat azz jumping on them. I never even got around to painting them, but they'll last way longer than I'll be using this truck...

I'm not much for show, but I like stuff to go... As long as stuff works the way I want it to, I overlook the "prettyness"

metalcuttr made a couple sizes of branding iron heads and we branded some stuff up at Dennis' GTG last spring. I lost track of where they got to as we were gonna pass them around at GTGs so everyone could brand whatever they want. I have a pair of boots that I branded too.

Thank you. That's just what I was looking for. After all, form follows function. Now to start digging through my "inventory"

Yep, run and hide if you ever see Monte running around a GTG with those branding irons!! Just a tip, If you get cornered, he can be distracted with Beer and/or Magnesium.
