Quick delivery before the snow hits, customer ordered 3/4 face mixed. Right now my mix is a 5:1:1 of ash, honey locust, and silver maple. This plus a bag of firestarters gets me $130, not Nashville prices but not too bad for my area. 20240108_140638.jpg

Has been raining non-stop here in Middle TN since 6pm yesterday. Loaded my truck with a 50/50 face cord of oak and hickory and parked it in the garage for a delivery tomorrow. Ten days of very cold weather headed this way by weekend. I have to drive about 5 miles from my house to get onto any roads that are maintained when snow and ice appears. So may have a lot of orders, but not able to fill them. Thought about raising my prices to $325, but that would be price gouging.

I've averaged $310 a face cord the past two months with tips. I don't mind raising prices for new customers, but feel awkward telling long-time customers who purchased firewood in the last two months they need to shell out more for the same firewood. I started selling firewood in Nashville almost four years ago for $210 a face cord. I have added on $15-20 a year to bring them slowly up to my advertised prices. Haven't received any complaints and don't think I have lost any customers to my knowledge. If their homes are over 7,500 SQFT and the cars in the garage are worth more than my house, they go straight up to asking price.
