Had some time off work in between the holidays, so we got out and did some splitting, so we could fill the shed. Had some help from the kids.

They ran shifts on the splitter between the 3 of them. Had to get out the canopy to stay dry.

Got 2/3 of it split. Piles everywhere...The rest needs to be cut to length first.

Split some of the stuff I scrounged right in the driveway.

Finished the day off with breakfast for dinner...can't beat it!

    Update on stacking later...

Awesome pregress! You can always add onto the wood shed and use the old walls as bay dividers.

I don't see it too often. Of course...I don't really dine with many people either. LOL

Yeah, the addition may be needed sooner than I thought. We got most the split stuff stacked now, but with everything else that still needs to be split, I am thinking we are going to run out of space. The boss was taking a look yesterday and her comment was that I didn't plan big enough to start!

We are big milk drinkers. About a gallon a day.

I just did the math.... I've drank approximately 9,000 gallons of milk in my life...... so far.
That's only around a half gallon per day....

Delayed in getting this posted, but we got most everything stacked before the deep snow hit.
I am jealous of you guys that cut everything yourself to uniform length and have great looking stacks. Dealing with mostly tree service stuff made stacking difficult. I had stuff between 12-20".
Had to take my time sorting species (mostly done during splitting) and sorting sizes.
Got about 3 cords in the shed. Still about 1 more in shorts, uglies and nuggets outside. Made a pallet crib for some of it...the rest will have to wait until things melt.

    In process....

sms4life- Don't be jealous. I have worked a ton of tree service wood. It can be good and bad at the same time. Your shed and stacks look amazing! Keep it up. I am still pulling wood out from under a heavy truck tarp!

Thanks for the welcomes and kind words everyone.

The kids had some fun after the hardwork and made some firewood mascots with different pieces found.
