I came home from work last evening to find that our youngest son Dan (amidst his college work) had brought enough wood into the garage stoop to keep us for the next three weeks or so.....lol.

Sure proud of the young man he's become.

That being said, we are using wood this winter that's been seasoning for almost 8 years.....it's PREEEEE-MOOOO stuff! The rubber roofing cover works, if yer curious.

The predicted snow totals keep getting lower and lower here in the central PA mountains, but ss I always say anymore "I'll believe it when I see it on the ground". I'll be shocked if we even get a dusting, but the wood situation is good....

They are keeping the "I_ _" word as a potential in our forecast too much for my liking, and "mix" and "sleet". Last decent snow event pics on my phone are from 2 years ago today, and we are almost 3 years from our last big ice event (2-13-21). Hopefully we will get rain. Regardless, I will be doing the preps in the next couple days...more wood on porch, generator checks, gas/propane checks, and feed the cows up hard....

Burning almost 9 year old red/white oak myself this winter (split and stacked in Spring '15).....but this will be the norm for me from now on.

Always good to be prepared. I get tired of the hype and will believe it when i see it. Minimal snow here last year and nothing here Southern CT yet this year.

Mebbe i'll run out for bread and milk!

Shelves are already empty here in the south and the snow is several states away. That's the way we roll.

I'm one of those who cannot get enough snow. My thinking...if it's gotta be cold, may as well be snowing.

You know the wood’s going to be good when the pallets it’s been sitting on have been there so long they’re sunken into the ground
I’m hoping for enough snow to use the plow I put on my tractor, but really we’ll be lucky to have enough to push off the driveway with a broom.

You and me both my friend. I love snowmobile in the wintertime. Expect lots of pics of me running the old snowmobile with loads of standing dead red oak rounds off of the farm if we get any kind of snowpack whatsoever.....it's been quite a few years since I had the opportunity to use the old sled! Here's a pic from quite a few years back of that old getup, some of you will remember.....

And I'm really hoping we can do maple syrup in a month or so also! Some pics from thr past have me hankering to do it again! WE NEED SOME SNOWPACK!!

Yeah, I'm replacing all those old wood skids with plastic as the wood gets used up......

I'm hoping to use my little mini skidsteer to play on the snow, gotta have enough to scoop first!!

I keep walking through the areas I'll need to snowblow, removing anything that would cause any anger issues. I'll also fire up the snowblowers to get them ready. I'll have ice melt handy.

Last estimate I heard for here, was 3+ inches of snow on Sunday.

Only reason I want a little is cause my daughter wants some, and to play in it with her!

Which is why I now stack on double pallets. :)

I'm also a snow lover. We don't get crap here anymore.
