I've heard that before, but never really thought much about it. All I know is that their best life has just begun, no matter what the heck they are!:D

Some of their coat markings reminds me of cattle dogs. Guess you'll have a better idea as they grow up. I'm happy for them and you!

Good for you to have taken in these pups:salute:
I can think of some pretty nasty things I could do to people who dump out and abandon animals!!

Truth is, I probably have rocks in my head for taking in the Chew Crew, but I can live with that. I've always had a soft spot for dogs, so if I'm mushy in the head, oh well. I can look myself straight in the mirror.

Yeah, it's sad that people can dump dogs without a thought...

We are not exactly sure she’s probably in the ball park of 7, plus or minus a year. She lucked out this is her third home. I have the feeling she was a bit much as a younger dog.

This is absolutely the best thread on this site. Lots of great friends shared.

Friend sleeping face down on the porch out of the freezing rain this morning, then finding just the right spot inside. She snuck in when Max and me came into dry out and warm up. Max had her spot too. Today was a lazy day.

    Merry Christmas hoarders

Max and Friend have picked their spots. Buckwalter and his lady friend dropped by for a quick visit too.

I see several neighborhood cats in my yard on a regular basis. Probably since I feed birds, which of course means I have squirrels too, they like to come over and watch. There is a calico that lives across the street that is behind me, and a LH black cat that lives a couple of blocks away from the front of the house (don't know where, but roughly where). I also occasionally see a few other cats, such as a gray/white one that I assume got out since I see them very rarely.

Last June, I saw an orange cat that I hadn't seen before. It seems to have a collar (or maybe old flea collar). I reached out on the town's FB page to find out where it belonged.

Never got a definitive answer, besides some others fairly close also see it regularly too. At that time, I only saw it once every few weeks at that time.

The last two weeks I've seen it on a regular basis and the last 4-5 days he has been here several times a day nosing around the bird seed (like in the picture above). So, I've taken to setting out a bit of cat food (enough for a snack). He now waits for me between 8 and 8:30 am (when I feed the birds) and greets me with meows. This is new behavior as he would previously slink off if I so much as got off the back porch that is about 70' away from the feeding area.

I was still figuring he has a home somewhere, but now I'm not too sure. I've been watching and after he eats he goes and hunkers under a trailer in the parking lot behind me. It looks like there is a nest of leaves there. The night before last, I saw him visit the feeding area again, after dark and in the rain, looking for food (which there wasn't any). So, softee that I am, I ordered this outdoor cat house.

It won't be here until the end of next week. Then I'll have to assemble it and find a flat area, that is somewhat protected from wind and isn't in an area that I usually direct snow to from the blower. Then I'll have a dry place to place cat food (it has been nothing but incessant rain/drizzle for months).

I'll reach out again on the town's FB page and if I can ever get my hands on him take him in for a chip scan. But at this point, it looks like I may have another cat.
