    I used my new FHC SS hookaroon today!
    I used it a little on site for moving logs around, and then again for pulling wood across the trailer when unloading it.

    I still have my EW Hatchet I picked up in college in 1994. Still use it for pounding wedges into a cut.

    I had an estwing hammer with leather handle for years, it was very nice until one of my kids left it out in the rain....that pretty much ruined the handle....:(

    As long as you keep it reasonably dry it should last almost indefinitely.
