    Along with the other replies, I would advise looking for a different saw shop. Wasn’t there so may be way off base but he sounded condescending and not very interested or knowledgeable in addressing your concerns. Hey, that’s just me…:smoke:

    It's not just you. That shop is either clueless, or attempting to take more money from you, which is wrong.

    Both are good reasons to find a new shop.

    My favorite shop and the one where I bought the saw 15 years ago closed it's doors. They were the best. A second shop which carried Stihl across the board also closed my location and opened a new shop a half hour away in the midst of suburbia. So these guys were third choice and clearly should stick to tossing chicken feed into your trunk. I can rely on y'all to tell it to me straight. Thanks....burn on!:dex:

    From what i can tell the two bottom ones will be your best choice. None really look that great. Maybe it's the picture.

    That cutter shows back lean. Not desirable. You want decent hook, like this:

    Then this pic shows way too much hook.

    This is set by how high or low you position the file when you sharpen the chain. Too high, no hook.
