Stihl vs Husqvarna...

Were you one of the guys talking about the Ms250 and how well it cuts? I hadn't ran one until my buddy asked me to spruce his up the other day. I didn't run it as delivered. His chain needed lots of help, I took care of that first then defeated the carb limiters and did a muffler mod. I'm pretty impressed with the Ms250 after a few full bar cuts. He had a smile on his face. I may get it back for further enhancement but I told him not until I have him sharpening chains so the saws stay off the limiter. Lol.

Pretty good saws actually, my main gripe is they're slow to get up to speed.
That's fine for a firewood saw but a no good for serious limbing work....imo.
Also, the stock air filter is pretty much a joke.
Otherwise, the one I had was a great little do everything saw.

 

The muffler mod took care of the response bigly. I concur on the filter. He wants that velocity stack mod with the filter like my 543 but the set up in the stihl won't allow me to do that without a custom made elbow or finding something else that will bolt on. It looks like a vacuum cleaner attachment. Lol
