35/67 ... Red/White Oak mix...1/3 of load...will last till tonight or tomorrow morning depending on sunshine...
Loaded the firebox right at midnight before bed. Several splits N/S, one in the front E/W. This method extends burn time a bit from all N/S. Checked it this morning at 7:15 and see a nice coal bed still chugging away. (door closed then open) Wife’s home today so I added some bricks. That burn with the air closed down kept us 70 inside with outside being 22. Could have easily gone another 2-3 hours before adding to it but I’m headed to “work”. Hope y’all have a good day.
21/63. Lit the fire right away. The wind is blowing (all night) and the wind chill is still in the single digits. Temps are dropping and snow is falling. You'd think it was December or something!
Sitting at 24f heading to 38f for the day, coldest day in the foreseeable forecast. Still working with shoulder wood but brought in some smalls and chunks that are leftovers from a few years ago so good a dry.
A buddy sent these from cannon Saturday, I was surprised at how much snow there is. It’s all but gone here.
It has been said that most of the UP will not have a white Christmas this year. This is difficult to believe, but it vould happen in certain spots.
That ^ Is beyond bizarre. Sure glad I rode sleds like the wind from the late 80's through the mid 00's. Soo many UP memories. Also glad i sold out of 90% of my sled interests. Sad!
Winds changed from the north to the west this afternoon. Pretty calm now. 17/69 I think I won't fire up for overnight.
The Red Oak had the overnight shift of keeping the house warm. I’m sipping coffee before I head to work. 29 and Red Oak packed in.
20/74 made a fire last night after getting home from work and fell asleep in front of it. Woke up about an hour ago and reloaded with elm.
