Delivered a half cord of dead ash today (forgot to take pics) and was gonna load for another tomorrow but ran out of daylight as i was doing my "normal" job. Showers and rain tomorrow so i doubt ill get to it. Have a partial bundle order i could deliver instead. How are sales going?
Not much cold here yet either. Ground froze a bot the other night but was mud the next day. Only one of my BL regulars has called and had wood dropped earlier this Fall. 3-4 others have yet to call. I may text a couple this week.
I have not heard from my best customer from last winter, but I knew they were the kind of folks whose life could change drastically at any moment. They are from Maryland and have a winter home here, so maybe they have not arrived yet.
Today’s the first time I’ve ever delivered in sleet. It’s going to an apartment complex so it’s also first time selling to an apartment. Maybe fancy apartments have fireplaces or yards with fire pits? Hopefully it doesn’t transition to rain before I get it delivered. Stacking paper
Ive sold to apartment dwellers before. The last time they were going to carry it up the the third or fourth floor!
Super nice yankee from NY. He complained about the junk unseasoned wood they’ve gotten from other sellers. I assured him my wood is dry and ready to burn. Same wood I heat with. Gave him some pointers for getting oak going and told him the Hickory would be easier to light up with the built in kinlin. Told him to get it covered asap since it was sleeting. Got the best tip of the season Now I gotta turn it back over to King heavy equipment for rebuilding my grapple cylinder.
I guess I’d ask the customer. In the end, as long as they are getting what they are expecting, that’s all that matters. I’m sure some would care, but others may not.
