What's the difference between Green Supreme Premium and Green Supreme Premium Plus? My guess is nothing?
Interesting I was over the border in southern nh tractor supply 285 a ton for green supreme/ energex northeastern blend made in Canada.285 at runnings for green supreme northeastern blend/ USA maybe nh plant. Back over border to greenfield tractor supply 330 a ton for green supreme/ Canada.
Yep, more expensive the closer to the plants you get is the rule of thumb in NH. I have one of those plants 27 miles from me and can't get those pellets as cheaply as you guys in MA (or other places) can. GS are $350/ton (not thru TSC since the local one sells MWP).
$350/ton here at the local TS for the GS. Guess I"ll go buy some. Would pay more than that for tho others I have been burning.
I think it’s low . I run my store on medium these days with a slow feed rate and most of the ash gets blown out of my burn pot and what’s left is light and fluffy , not clumping up .
Got another ton of Green Supremes yesterday, totally agree on the fluffy ash and no clinkers or carbon build up in the burn pot. Not sure they burn as clean or as hot as Somersets, but for $239/ton I am pretty happy!
Picked up a ton of green supreme NE blend last night for $175. They were about an hr north of me. I'm down to half a ton of green team platinum's and depot still has supreme's at $7+ a bag so I decided to grab these. I won't mind burning these for $3.50bag .
Yesterday I went to cover up the 4 tons of pellets that HD dropped off in the yard the other day. I just put a sheet of plastic over the top to keep water from pooling in all the nooks and crannies where the top of the bag is sealed. Anywho, I thought I'd check to see what flavor they sent. Figured it would be the Northeast blend as usual. But, that would not be the case - they are Midwestern Hardwood The 013238000025 SKU isn't helpful as anymore all GS have the same code except that last number or two - which I assume tells them the flavor/plant. Pretty weird. First, they (both Lignetics and HD) advertise how pellets are locally sourced (these are made in MI I believe). And second, the winter has been mild so I'm unsure why they weren't stocking from a closer plant - not like the Northeast ran out of trees or they quit clearing for building or land management. Hey, I haven't had any new entries in my pellet tracking log, so eventually I will get to enter new data (certainly not this year, maybe next year). And, both of my stoves like a decent hardwood so there are no worries there.
My guess is Marth as thats the only midwestern mills they own. They were a dandy pellet when lowes carried them in the original brown bags. My guess is the midwest area had an overage in supply so they got shipped to the warehouse that your local HD pulls from.
Not if their warehouse is loaded. We had west coast pellet show up here a few winters back all the way from washington state. I guess its cheaper for them to throw them on a truck with other stuff thats coming this way than buy more from the mills. Don't see it often, Buy does happen. I've see lowes do it too. Marths from WI and somersets from Kentucky
I switched from Somersets to Easy Heats. Heat output seems the same. The ash is a bit heavier. What I find most appealing about them is they don't cause nearly as much carbon build up on the pot of my Harman Accentra as the Somersets did.
I have to agree with the carbon build-up from the Sets. Burning mostly Green Supreme this year and although they don't burn as hot, put out more ash and are the dustiest pellets that I ever had, I don't have to hammer the carbon out of the burnpot every week.
When I'm going to store some for a long time I've some times double covered the bags to make sure no moisture comes in, or just gotten one of those wrapping rolls and gone around them so much they look like mummies haha! Whatever cheap one I can find like: https://a.co/d/3v0dOG7 Our supply gets covered so many times, and often even two bags around it because water is always the enemy. Pellets are often used in the hazardous materials world for their absorbency.
