Still bouncing around the freeze/thaw mark, with the added bonus of rain. That's an oddity here, but should turn to snow n ice later. Pine in the reactor same as always.

We were at 11* this am, since we were going to run out for errands, we fired up the pellet stove. I will be transitioning over to wood shortly.

Took 1/2 day off, came home to a small bed of coals. Spread them out a little and loaded the firebox with newspaper/apple shavings bricks.

A friend had his land logged for white pine, they left the Red Oak. I am getting that.

Over did it tonight. Silver maple and tulip poplar in the fireview. This flame show is one of my favorites.

Gone most of the day getting things, and getting things done. Anyway, got back an hour ago to 18* out, and 55* in. Maple and Ash are already kicking the thermometer in the butt.

    Burning around the clock.

Red oak and a piece of black locust overnight.

Red maple and ash during the day. If running out to do errands, a piece of oak goes in before we leave.

Upper 50's forecasted for this Sunday. Looks to be a good time to give the stove a nice cleaning.

54 and windy here. Finally got all the silver maple burned...moved on to some RR tie (untreated) cut-offs. I'll be burning that, probably until spring.

Still pretty decent up here, few degrees below freezing all day, and might hit -9C/16F overnight. Average highs and lows for here this time of year are 14F to -4F but lots of times colder. I'll take it. Pine and more pine in small doses today.
