I saw that. Mild temps should equal less snow. Kinda glad I didn't splurge on that tractor with cab and front mount snowblower!!!
Still relatively warm here by any standards. Hovering in that few degrees above/below freezing mark...maybe snow, maybe rain tonight. Yuck. Stove shuttin down to scratch the gremlins out of the chimney
46F here in north Georgia at 6pm. Forecast 31F in the morning. 62 in the house when I got home and lit a fire. 68 now an hour later. Will be 75 inside by 8pm if I stoke it again. Our thermostat is set in the kitchen hallway, so it's probably closer to 80+ in the living room when the fire has been rolling along for awhile. Update, for the record , as I'm new to wood burning, 72 at 8pm and holding steady. This is started cold from hardwood kindling, several 2 to 3-finger width splits and one 4"x3"x14" log.
Came home to a 61 degree house. Lit up right away at 5 with red oak, then added a couple bricks. Got it up to 66 in about 2 hours. Bricks vvvvv 36 out now. Had some white chit earlier.
Got an inch of faller’s delight today. Minus 1 C. Going to bring home a load of pine tomorrow morning from the sawmill I work at. Bug kill lodgepole. Still burning sap rot fir. We just been making two smudges a day so far this fall. I hope I have enough shoulder season wood to last until the end of the shoulder season.
31/67 I slept in until 6 but still had coals and a piece of red maple to get the stove popping quickly.
11/66 and warming up. Maybe too many coals this morning. I think I could of burned hotter and the house would have been warmer. Will test tonight!
