Tree ID? Honey Locust and Elm?

Looking for help on identification. Little dump score today. If I wanted 2 cords of Cottonwood, I know where to get it but passing for now!

 

The big rounds look like cottonwood to me...but I'm not very good at IDs west of the Mississippi.

 

Large rounds are Siberian elm.

 

I agree with Eric Wanderweg - The big rounds are Siberian Elm fo sho. Not sure about the smaller rounds. The smaller rounds remind me of the fruit trees my parents have on their property (cherry, plum, peach etc). Great firewood, if that’s the case!

 

Whatever it is, it's dense and very heavy. I had looked at some honey locust pictures in the early growing stage that looked similar. Peach looks similar too. I just went for the easy hardwoods I could scrounge. Maybe later in the winter Cottonwood will seem enticing.

 

Looks like black locust, but its definitely not honey locust.

 

The large rounds are almost certainly Siberian Elm.

The smaller sticks look to me like Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus) based entirely on the bark. I'm usually better with leaves, but that thin looking grey bark reminds me of TOH. TOH has a pretty poor smell in my experience. Split one of the little guys open and if it smells good, then it might be fruit wood, I've seen some apple trees that have bark something like that. However, if those splits smell like poo you've got TOH.

 

Big rounds are def Siberian Elm you can see the white stain which is a dead giveaway in pic 2.

 

The guess for Honey Locust came from this Yale resource photo. I'll split some and give it a smell.

 

Another vote for the big rounds being elm.
