I remember we always had "Life Savers Christmas Book" under the tree every year. I don't recall seeing these in stores recently
Mrs. Warner made her wreath yesterday. We also got the tree up and her table she decorates seasonally, there will be more on thereā¦
That stuff and ribbon candy is just plain disgusting! Stuff from days gone by for sure. Our grandparents loved that stuff from their childhoods back in the 1800s.
For sure. I remember getting them every year as well. Simple times have changed. Not sure a lot of kids today even have a clue as to what it is all about.
It's an annual tradition, we tag our tree in Oct and go out to dinner down by the tree farm that day. Our tree get's cut and goes up every year on black Friday followed by finish decorating the outside of the house. The tree farm we go to is family owned and operated, they are some of the nicest folks we've met. Husband and wife are older but still going at it, and both their older kids help out now as well. Very nice to see! I usually start early putting the lights up on the roof back in Oct or even late Sept when the weather is nice but not plugging in. Weather is unpredictable, high winds cold temps or mild and sunny, never know but I don't take any chances I am getting older. On a side not this year we swung over to a nearing town's Italians market and picked up some real Italian goodies along with some sandwiches and pizza for the kids, what a treat, haven't found good stuff like that since the South Philly days. We still try and go all out, since the kids are still young and really enjoy! Them helping out makes it easier as well.
I dodged that bullet! Spent too much time outside plowing, shoveling and snowblowing.....ended up getting chilled. The warden gave me time off for good behavior!
