Shot a big doe at noon now I can buck hunt the rest of the week and do a little dogging for hunting partner
View this morning. Notice the lack of deer. Haven't seen a deer since rifle season started. Bumped a couple this morning in the dark. That's about it. Beats working though. Tomorrow it's gonna be a cold one . Possiblity for a little bit of snow flakes. Be nice if it did.
That's deer hunting. I had a nice buck cross the road in front of me 50 yds before the drive I was turning in this morning, then had some others snort walking in before daylight. Definitely will need to be bundled up tomorrow.
I'm in for the morning. 21 degrees and fingers started hurting. Saw 4 small deer that I opted to pass on. Back at it this evening.
I came in at 9 as well. Didn't see anything. Though my cellular trail cam let me know that a few deer passed by my one stand around 6:30.
It's been a rough go in my neck of the woods this year. Here we are 2 weeks in, and it's not looking good. I think the numbers are down, and the warm weather has them being all lazy. The most deer I saw at one time was 5 in the same area...one was a young buck that I wouldn't even drop the hammer on even if it was the last 5 minutes of the last day.
Keep grinding brother. It was VERY slow in my woods this year, too, until last night, then lots of action. You can't kill them if you're not in the woods.
A lot of guys here having the same problem, so it's not just my area. It's almost eerie when dark-thirty rolls around and there are no shots to be heard. On a good? year, it kind of sounds like a Blackhawk Down movie moment. A few more days left with lower night temps so it's not over til it's over.
Ive been bad at updating my season this year! Bow season started with this small 6pt stag with my bow.
The week before Thanksgiving it went off, I had two big bucks chasing does everyday, I just couldnt seal the deal- until Thanksgiving afternoon… I slaughterdonked this nice 9pt.
