Today was farm day in my town. Thought we are only 40min drive from Boston there is a pretty active farming community here with at least 3 or 4 horse farms, a turkey farm and numerous other farms that grow veggies and fruits. Many of the farms had open houses today with activities for the kids, free food, bands, etc. And a LOT of antique tractors.... there is a tractor pull in town that many of them go to and they will all parade next week for the town festival day. But hte highlight I think was my daughters first pony ride. As promised in the BS thread here are some photos...
That is great. I should have went to the annual show here. Every summer, in August there is the Old Gas Tractor show near Chesaning, MI and it is big. Yeah that one was a real beauty. I only got to talk to the owner for a couple minutes, I understand its a 50s vintage IH Farmall that he found up in VT where it used to be used as a log hauler. He hauled it down here to Mass a couple years ago and it had a full restoration. I'm no where near a vintage tractor expert but Ive seen a lot of farmalls around and they are always tricycle style with the narrow front wheel pair, so this on is new to me with the front axle.
Those kids will remember times like this when all else is forgotten. They will be bragging about it to their grandchildren. ("When I was your age...")
