Ae had an impromptu GTG Monday evening when our good buddy SBK1980 dropped off my XS ported Stihl 084 that he picked up from PA Dan who brought it to western PA after getting it from huskihl at Walts GTG last month. blacksmith came down with him, my son Dan showed up, and we ran several of the big saws for an hour or so and had a blast doing it.

The spruce was knotty, the chains were kinda dull, but it didnt matter none.

At the end of the day, I'm very grateful for the friendships and family ties we forge here at FHC. Love these guys and many others I've come to know personally here, looking forward to another meet-up!!

When you are all done bucking the wood into cookies, now you have to take your hatchet and split them. You may want to draw straws to see who then gets to stack the splits. Pics would be nice to see of the finished product. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :axe::axe::axe::axe::axe::stacker::stacker::stacker::stacker::stacker::stacker:

The chain was dull as heck, I'll get her sharpened up and do some vids. Kevin has this video on his YT page of some test cuts with a 50" bar/8 pin sprocket in a maple crotch. It pulls like a frieght train....lol

Does the 20" run 404 or 375 chain? Ive seen that video before.

Never have run a saw bigger than my 500. Maybe ill make a GTG one of these days.

I've got my big mounts all set up with .404, I may try some 3/8 - .063 on these big mount bars as they are all non-sprocketed tips. I'll have to look into getting some of that chain.
