    +1 here, same one

Dennis said something a few years ago that was a little foreign to me at the time but is how it is now for me. The best moisture meter is a three year calendar. That's very true, since I'm a few years ahead now I don't even break out the meter, occasionally I'll get curious and check it out. But of you aren't in that position a moisture meter is a cheap and useful tool.

General here too. Although the water droplets on the top left is a bit misleading. Other than that, I like it!

I also have the general and it has worked fine. I hadn't used it in 2-3 years but actually used this afternoon to check some really old red oak I was cutting up.

Swags is right. Hardly ever use one now. But it's still good for checking cold air infiltration to the house. Mine is a cheap Harbor Freight.

I use the General also. The other test is to smack 2 pieces together. You should a crack similar to a baseball hitting a bat. That be dry 'nuff.

My problem is I've had wood stored along side of my garage but there's a 6 ft privacy fence 4 ft away. So my wood doesn't get a lot of sun or wind through it. This years wood is a mix of ash that's 3 years old along with 3 year old maple. Just wanted to give it a double check. And I really don't have a place to move it to to get more sun and wind at home. I could move it to a friends shop that is about 15 minutes away but he's not there much and I'm afraid it would grow legs and walk away.

Anyone else have problems with the prongs bending on the general? It seems to work well though I suppose.
