I have always bought square, then filed it round when it dulled. Then one day I said screw this and bought a square file and never looked back.
So how much faster is square file versus round. Same saw same chain..just one filled square other filled round
There's a good bit of difference in cut speed. With more work than that you can get 50-60% faster cut times over new chain. Not bad gains for just filing a chain.
I like how @ 23 seconds of the square video ............. you lift, she self feeds and 4 strokes, but cleans up when you put just a slight pressure on her. Now thats a perfect tune (in my book) !! Yeah, the saw could get a little more power by going leaner, but its just not worth it for the sake of the longevity of a good work saw
