Whats the third if TP and CW are the top two? Box elder? Silver maple?
TOH, catalpa and sassy take longer IME.

You certainly have more faith in your tailgate than I could have. Must not be going far with that load of splits.

Literally next door. Most of my bundle wood is stored next door to my main storage and PA. I back the PU and load as i split. I have four cords of bundle wood stacked here at home that will be for the upcoming Winter bundle season. I play "musical firewood" quite often. PITA but it is what it is.

Have about 3/4 of general cordage wood to bring home to fill the stacks here.

Boxelder and silver maple makes 4 and 5 now that I’m thinking of it. Cut in late winter, burn in the fall. Oh yeah, pine and spruce are more 6 month firewoods too (but who goes out of their way for that?)

Basswood is a fast drier too. First time i cut some in my own woods (not knowing what it was at the time) i CSS and it was so feather light when dried i almost threw it out. Gave it to oldest stepdaughter for their fireplace. She loved it. Makes nice splits too. You ever score any?

Thanks. Thats all bundle quality wood. Wish the rest of my PA was as organized. Not having a "final resting place" for wood when it gets split always throws a wrench in my side. This time of year the racks empty so i have some open. Time to work on wood is another thing.

Not yet, but I’ve heard it was fast-drying and burned HOT and fast. I would take some given the opportunity. I’ve only seen a handful of them around, but wouldn’t go cutting one down just for the firewood.

I've burned a fair amount of Basswood. It's ok but leaves a large amount of ashes.

Split the rest of the green wood and moved to the shed. IMG_4310.JPG IMG_4312.JPG IMG_4313.JPG Mixing in some ten month old chestnut oak splits that wont be used until this is ready in a year. Fourth row done and started a fifth. Stack is abount 10' x 7' tall so a couple face cord per row. IMG_4311.JPG B grade splits went to a general cordage stack. IMG_4309.JPG Only some dead ash rounds remain.
