What general part of WA are you in?
If you don't want to say, I understand.
I grew up in the Longview / Kelso area, then we moved over to Clatskanie Oregon.
Geographically and climate wise it's a great area..... culturally...not so much.

I’m up near Enumclaw. Closer to Buckley if you’re familiar with the area. Cascade foothills about 750’ above sea level.

It’s tough to even imagine what we would want in a new location. Work was the previous main concern. Without the commute issue or income needs what do you really want in a home? Not an easy question for us to answer.

Are there places that people just like living? No need for vacations?

It’s easy, but kind of depressing to list qualities that I’d like to avoid.

Born in Penna., raised in N.J. and moved north to Northern Ontario 41 years ago. Was supposed to be a 10 year deal, and now they will spread my ashes here someday. Is it the best place to live? Nope !!!.... but a lot lot better than a lot of places. Day to day living here was what the states were like back in the 60's & 70's and that suits me just fine. To each his own.

There was a saying a few years ago something like The nice thing about Burlington is that it's so close to Vermont.

That's a very pretty area, I used to drive a ton for work, and went through there a few times.
It really stinks what the PNW has become culturally and p-word-ly....I loved it there, but I'm so enjoying living down here in the Ozarks where we have freedom.

I went to Burlington once about 15 years ago, to go tour the Magic Hat brewery and do some sightseeing. The whole way up I-91 then I-89 is all rural like most of northern New England. We come into Burlington and if I didn't know where I was I'd I swear it was some small city in Connecticut. Talk about a shock. I thought Brattleboro was a bustling town, but that's got nothing on Burlington.
