Been a mild fall. Burning sap rot fir and trembling aspen and old lodgepole pine. The shoulder season keeps going. Should be full on winter by now
It’s 60, but I still fired up a load of pine and past it’s prime oak. Sold a load of wood today to a guy who was watering his lawn. That seemed weird for mid November.
42/70 heading for 32 overnight. Lit off about 9:00 with maple, ash and cherry. Lookin like we'll be keeping it going for several days now.
31 this morning and just loaded up the Wood Gun with Beech and Cherry. Suppose to be a high of 39 today. A little closer to normal temperatures.
48 I stepped outside and the birds are carrying on like it’s springtime. Supposedly it will cool down tonight. The big chunks of white oak are ready.
Yesterday a couple hours after daylight the temp was falling. It dropped 20 degrees fast then held there. It is 23 now.
Mild here at 47 but the wind is making it feel raw. Cherry and ash in the Lopi, with some sassafras skinnies on top.
CSS a smaller dead standing cherry while out working on a trail with the wife. It sounded like strofoam when the splitter hit it and came in at 10% MC. Cant wait to burn some tonight.
