Last week I delivered to a new customer. He wanted a load of short pieces. I posted the load in loaded truck pics because it was the first time anyone requested shorts. The guy was happy with the firewood and asked if he could share my number with his colleagues. Works at a high end realtor. On Sunday I will be delivering the 6th and 7th load sold from his referral. Today I delivered in a mcmansion neighborhood and a guy walks over to ask how much and got my number. I think I’ll put in an order for that 32” Stihl light bar.
He said it was because they were using a coal burning stove. I’ve never seen a coal stove, so I guess it’s small?
Uh oh, you working EODDiver's neighborhood? Referrals are the best way to get business. Congrats on all the sales. Had a hit on my mulberry CL ad. Yesterday. Delivering a 1/4 cord of "exotic" mulberry to his condo tomorrow. 60 bundle order going out as well. The heck with the bar...i wanna see a 500i in your arsenal.
I have only made a few sales from CL. Same as last year. One guy told me there was only one other firewood ad on CL. I wish I could make Nashville $. Folks around here are used to getting cheap green ugly firewood. Unless I stumble on a killer deal for a 500 it ain’t happening. All extra dough is paying on the Kubota. It’s feeling like I’m on the warm side of the El Niño jet stream so far.
Always happy for fellow firewood sellers making big Benjamins. I have been up to my eyeballs delivering the last couple of weeks. Have had two days off so far in November which is nice. Always try to deliver 3-4 face cords per Nashville trip. Big savings on diesel and driving time.
Huge development of homes going up around my restaurant customer. All within walking distance. They have expanded their operating hours and hired a lot of new staff. I would be satisfied justing serving this place and adding on an extra delivery on the way home.
All my hickory deliveries are averaging in the 14-16% moisture range split and tested. Have about 100+ FCs of hickory and always adding more each week. Have another 2-3 truck loads of shag bark I am cutting on the way home from Nashville. 32" diameter at the base.
A lot of scary cutting on this thing. Bring three saws on every trip because of all the possible pinches.
