200 years ago, in a little cabin with some acreage and some livestock. A days ride from civilization. I’ll take the chance of starvation or freezing to death over the BS bing jammed down my throat today.

No sense of adventure! 5 months of winter is what we call good working weather. Sometimes the snow gets a little unbearing in a bad year.

You gotta know what you consider Maine. There really is two Maines.

Estcourt station up in big twenty township is really good for that! No nothing there but a border crossing. Save on a cell phone bill and stuff, there’s no such thing there. Power is provided by diesel power.

Did a fishing trip into Ross lake a few years ago. Couple hours on logging roads and a few miles on snowmobile to the camp. Good times.

I lived in bowdoinham when I was younger. I'm looking at the interior, away from the coast. Probably more north than there.
It depends on what I eventually find and afford.

Yeah, that’s the other Maine. Not like the Portland metro but way too close for my likings. And you got to love the “dirty Lew” not too far off. GO NORTH YOUNG MAN, not just a catch phrase but, I shouldn’t publicize it, but the truth and definitely stay away from the coast.

don't want to be on west part of state, basically east of augusta and north of 95. Got some family friends in richmond / gardiner area.
if the crypto ratchets back up again .. When it was hitting 60k plus I almost made the plunge.

Yup spent a fair amount of time in that area. Did you make it over to eagle lake and check out the old great northern railway? There’s lots to do in that area if you know what you are looking for and how to get to it.

If I could choose to live anywhere, it would be right where I am! This was a decision made over 7 years ago, I feel blessed and will never look back! WMNF NH

Not according to the state! Although a man killed a big coyote back a while ago and the biologists couldn’t determine if it was a coyote or not. After a year they arrested him for killing a wolf. And no we don’t have mountain lions either, that was a big house cat and your eyes were playing tricks on you.

Head another hour plus north of that and stay west of 95 for the most part.

The PNW before it went to the pooper.
Coast range of north cal & Oregon is nearly paradise in my opinion.
We moved to the the Ozarks from Oregon in '21..... it was like going back in time about 40 years.

I like where we are now, living on 9 acres of land, mostly wooded with a lot of wildlife around. We are not too far from town, so shopping is no big deal.

Alright, the cat's out of the bag. Out of anywhere in the country, my personal choice is northern New Hampshire. 20 years ago I did a lot of riding on the other side of the CT river from you, in East Concord Vermont. I always liked the Littleton and Whitefield area though. As long as there aren't too many other southern New Englanders moving in, gentrifying the place, I'd like to be up there by the time I'm 50.
