Just spent $250 for a delivery of logs from a local tree service company. Mostly ash with some maple, oak, hickory and beech. I have about 8 cords split and stacked already so this is for 2025. Gives me something to do for the next few months.

I get most of my wood from tree guys. Not trying to be a jerk but $250 seems a little high for that load. Maybe try to get him to come down if you get more from him? That wood was probably sitting in his yard for a while and he's just getting around to clearing it out.
I estimate 3.5 cords or so. The box on the truck was 4X8X16. I just told the guy I wanted 250 dollars worth. I have seen advertised prices in my area around 650 dollars for 7 or 8 cords so I am not complaining. I don't worry about haggling over a few dollars. At this point I prefer having someone bring the wood to me so I can work on it at my leisure.
Under $100/cord for logs would be a fairly good deal around here. I had one tree cutter tell me he would drop off logs if the other guy in the neighborhood's yard gets full. Hasn't happened yet. Free would be nice but I could freeze waiting.
The spectrum of wood being sold and given away for free is all over the place in my particular area. I see plenty of folks who sell wood for a living at the typical cost of generally $200 for cord of split wood or truck full of logs at vary prices. Then I see on FB and CL, folks just flat out giving it away, from either recent tree work they had done, rounds they had stored on the property they just want to get rid of, or folks clearing trees on their property. Then you have folks that want to sell a large limb that fell in there driveway for $300. I just saw a post not long ago of about 7 - 8 nice size rounds in their driveway, for $1500, gotta love it. Of course that is the rare post. It varies greatly and makes it kind of fun when I am on the hunt. You do need to act quick around here or it's gone! I visited the next town over Saturday for a FB listing of Red Oak, picked up truck bed full of rounds and decent limbs, free of course, nice guy!
All relative I suppose, some folks have land they have easy access to a supply, some get it dropped off their front door via connections or good friends who are arborists, others live in places where wood is not abundant or very expensive, others live in area's where wood burning is common very hard to come by and very expensive due to the demand. I think $250 for that load is pretty solid deal!
2022 fall, a cord of delivered logs was going for 140. That was up from 100 that spring. I don't know what the price is this year but I bet it hasn't dropped. What you paid and what you got seems to be a very good price.
