I thought it would be cool to have a thread where we posted our current firewood usage thus far for the 23/24 burning season. I'm currently at 1 face cord here in Wyoming of Lodgepole Pine. Vogelzang Ponderosa wood stove. It has been usually warm thus far.

Still early in the season here. Maybe 2/3 of a face cord. Mostly ash and cherry with a little oak mixed in.

Maybe a 1/4 of a cord here so far. Been running a 1500w electric heater for a month or more now. It's just tough to not overheat the house with a fire until it's cold enough outside.

I’m not exactly sure but it hasn’t been much. A little black locust and ash and I’ll continue burning that for the winter

Only had a couple of outdoor fire pit sessions. Have not fired up the wood stove as of yet.

Hard to tell in picture. But probably used an area 4 ft wide and 5 ft deep into dry storage pile. Been burning more due to our daughter being 7months old IMG_20231113_070252.jpg

Just put what was left of last seasons wood in the stove this morning. I’d guess 1/3 of a cord or a little less so far.

I’ve used less than 1/4 face cord so far mostly sugar and ash. I did cheat early on with pressed logs that I picked up for free this summer.

I don't know who Rick is either.

Kind of hard to say right now since piles have been moving around but a face cord might be in the ball park.
I will know much more after the season and I can figure out piles of what I have left after all said and done.

I forgot about " shoulder wood" I have/had mostly slab-wood from the sawmill , I did have quite a bit of it, still at least a face cord that I filled a rack with.

I would say a face cord and a row, which is down from usual usage.

We have no snow at 10,000 feet here. With 65 degree weather this week, adding to the wood pile with nice Lodgepole pine. Last year, the mountains were covered from November to May.

Only very little and mostly in the mornings. Just sweet gum with a little cherry mixed in. Just hasn’t been cold enough yet for an all day fire.

Off to a pretty slow start here in PA. We've not done any round-the-clock burning yet. We've gone through maybe a quarter of a cord total, with most of that being misc chunklies. We've dipped into a stack of poplar as well, as this also is intended for shoulder use. Saving the oak, maple, and mulberry till we actually get temps that warrant such luxury!

A handful of trash pine from the outdoor fire pit. About a week or two ago. Ended up opening up the front doors.
It really hasn't been cold enough, although last night it got down to 26ºF or so.

1st fire of the season last evening, some maple uglies warmed the house nice. We had a low LN of about 28, tonight 31 I'll probably fire her up again take the chill out.

A quarter cord for first Oct. thru Nov. 13. We only burn during the day and usually let the fire die out early so the house is not to hot at night. Weather has mostly been in the low 40*s at night with only a few dips into the 30*s. Consumption will ramp up shortly as it is trending colder!:coldfire:
