Yep. Ain't no reason it should be getting dark at 530. And ain't no reason it needs to get dark at 9-930 in the summer. It should be reversed.

People north of you only have 9 hour days (or less) to work with at Winter Solstice. Add 6 hours for Summer Solstice - not too many people are up at 4 AM. Just those that make a living utilizing every minute of sunlight. Shift the clocks in theSummer and more people can take advantage of the extra daylight.

Seems that daylight in the evening after most people get off and are at home would be useful to most folks.

As of today husband and kiddo will leave for work/school in the dark. Then I'll pick her up from the bus at dusk soon to be dark. He'll follow in after that.

I assume it takes them a long time to get to, and home from, school/work? Sounds like no matter what the clock does, that'll be the case for them. (Unless it was to start even earlier in the am...)

Yes exactly, we live out of town, takes awhile to get there and the bus home takes up to 1.5 hour to get home because of all the stops and she's one of the last stops.

All this talk about the time change and what people seem to want is more daylight at the end of the day. So with the time, either with or without DST, there is still going to be more dark; either in the evening or morning. But few mention it being dark at 8:00 am or later. It seems to me just an argument for more daylight at the end of the day.

I remember when I was a young lad and began getting more interested in the opposite sex, I liked the earlier dark in the evening.
